The directors have taken the difficult decision to close the Larruperz Community Centre until further notice. Many of groups and users had already cancelled their bookings with us and following government guidelines on Friday 20th March the social club/bar is closed as well.
We would like to thank the community of Ross on Wye for all their support and look forward to welcoming you back at the centre as soon as we are able re-open.
After much hard work by our contractors Staff and Management Committee and at the Larruperz Centre, we are able to announce that the toilets on the ground floor are all but complete. This includes a greatly improved disabled toilet which is now wheelchair friendly.
We are grateful to the Herefordshire Leaders Trust for their grant, without this it would have not been possible to carry out all of the work in one operation.
But thanks especially to D.R. Hill and Sons who have done a wonderful job in a constantly busy building. Their patience has been outstanding.
I am sure there will be other projects as the money becomes available but for the moment take a breath and all relax. We
WELL DONE EVERYONE.
Work has finally got under way to carry out improvements at the Larruperz Centre. For two and a half years we have been in negotiations with the Herefordshire Leaders Trust to gain grant funding for these and this was recently approved and a local builder appointed.
Two projects will be completed by December this year.
The first will turn an existing internal stairwell into much needed storage space. This in turn will provide us with an extra meeting room for hire. To achieve this we have nearly completed the installation of an external fire escape staircase with a new first floor exit. This will be completed In October.
Secondly there will be a long awaited refurbishment of the ground floor toilets including the disabled loo. This will include redesigned facilities providing toddler and baby changing areas in both ladies and gents toilets and a modern cleaner look in line with those on the first floor, refurbished some years ago and still looking good! They’ll be more attractive to use and be less wasteful of water and electricity.
